Is referring to the drugs,i guess so,ed's friend or something,i guess that even flow is referring to his mental state, means that everything sometimes it's too tense and all he wants to do is escape but he knows he can't,he is just waiting to feel a little excitement or a feeling of thrill...
WE ARE AN ELITE RACE OF OUR OWN: THE STONERS,JUNKIES AND FREAKS.
  • you can see even flow from two points of view, and it'll make perfect sense:

    1. It was written about a homeless person
    2. It was written about a filthy rich person

i like the first option better. if you have Ten, you will find in the liner notes that the song chorus was scriblled onto a 1 dolar bill, that led me into making my second interpretation.

probably the name "even flow" is reffering to his state of mind, cause his "thoughts are arriving like butterflies"

  • don't think so
i think it's about a farmer son or a boy sittin in a wooden trapper house and resting his head on a pillow made of concrete, he don't like his farmer life, and thoughts arrive like butterfliees probably he should go to big town and begin his life again, but he chases them away, but one day he will do it "someday yet he'll begin his life again"

When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him
By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs
So this is what it's like to be an adult?
If he only knew now what he knew then
  • Id say its about a homeless dude who has a drug problem. He was probably a guy who had a lot of potential previously in life but had gotten into drugs heavy and wasted away.
    I know someday you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky, but why
why, why can't it be, why can't it be mine
