Damaged during shipping. Ames won’t return my emails and their returns site is down. Very annoyed that this cost $70 and I can’t even get a response.

First, welcome.  This appears to be a first post for a minty new membership.

The pictures aren't really that great.  Other than seeing some extraordinarily long toes, the detail is hard to see.  It looks as if the poster may have gotten wet, yes?

When did you receive your damaged poster?

When did you contact Ames?  I'm trying to determine if you contacted them just today or if you have had this lying around for a bit.

It seems as though Ames wouldn't be at fault as it looked as though craft paper was used and I think that I saw tape at the end of the tube.

Did your poster tube get delivered during some unfortunate weather incident?

As you can see, there are far more questions than answers to give.  I would suggest to take better detail photos (leave those toes out, please ) and patiently wait for a response.  I would give a few days for a response.  Remember, they aren't a mega giant corporation and as such, it takes some time to get back.

Hoping that your issue gets resolved.

Depends on the carrier and how will the seller (Ames) is willing to work with you.
I have a (very) small Etsy shop and ship stuff all the time. I think the general rule is the seller is only responsible for proving it shipped and was packed properly. But most claims under $100 are automatically approved if they are willing to take the time to file one for damaged in transit.
