Not For Mickey

I don't know why, but I think this song is one of their best overall work. I think it's the best 3 guitar harmony/work I've heard from the boys. Nice start with Eddie and Stone (I believe) with Mikey doing is effects subtly in the background. Beautiful lyrics and voice with the much. Then it kicks in full gear. Did I mention Jeff's bassline is perfect with the guitars. Matt does his part really well. Finally, Mikey hits in full gear with a kick ass solo.
I mean it's five awesome musicians in unison to create a simpistic yet beautiful. Can you ask for more?

This song is so important to me. It is exactly how I feel about my mother who passed when I was 11. I am 25 now. But it just is so true how one feels. Even though it was 14 yaers ago, I still feel the same as when I was 11. I don't know that anyone can really be complete after losing someone so dear to you. And this song help me be more complete. Along with Pearl Jams music in general.
The story seems to be about someone who has lost someone they love. The person is grief-stricken to the point where he sometimes retires to his room and stays in bed with his sadness for days. It seems to be about someone who has died, but the person left must still dream of the other because he still somehow has a hope and a wish that the other will return.
I think it expresses the invisible yet really tangible feeling that people can have when they are attached to someone they love. It's like an invisible thread or string and this person didn't want to let it go.
