Boston Wicked Witch poster tie in?

I know it has been done this way before, but still . . . fiirst half of show shown on the large screens in black and white and then switches over to color for the second half, ala The Wizard of Oz.

Is there some tie in with the wicked witch and flying monkeys to Boston or Fenway?  It seemed like an odd reference.

  • I thought they did that early in the show since it's still light out - and easier to see, and once it goes dark enough they switch over to color.  They did same for both Seattle shows I was at.

Plus, the artist seems to enjoy drawing monsters and he's Australian, and they like to refer to their country as "Oz".

Is it a protocol (for viewabilty) or artistic license to make the switch over to color?—sunset was at least a half hour before they went on stage both nights in Boston.

And his daughter's name is Dorothy... so there's another connection.
