Big Fish, too big? Not big enough?

For one, having a classic single linked to a very heart wrenching but otherwise cliche movie should have it merits, in the end it was not enough to win an academy award for Pearl Jam. Where does the selection process of current favorites in the category of Best Original Song begin? Man of the Hour could, in all intensive purposes, not have been a better song or song reflecting the mood and purpose for the movie Big Fish. Was the song judged though on the merit of the movie, rather than the song? Did it not accumulate the commercial fortune that is neccessary for an Original Best Song winner? I am beginning to wonder, quietly too myself, if Hard Sun is the song that may possibly fill this roll...and moreso whether it deserves the honour of Best Original Song.

Too much publicity for Into the Wild, might, in retrospect...nod the undeserving Hard Sun into the Oscar... where Man of the Hour is/was more deserving...

Guaranteed may get a nomination though
