An idea to save your battery a bit... just screenshot your ticket and set it as your lock screen for the night. Then you are just tapping the side button to illuminate the screen, not opening up apps which use more battery power. Will help a little. If you do this you can also put it on airplane mode to save battery when you don't need to be on cellular.

Sounds more like a venue problem. For instance, Seattle pretty much had 3 sections. The stands which didn’t require you to show any ticket after entering. Reserved floor( after entering venue you got a wristband and never had to show your ticket again), then GA floor( which you also got a wristband upon entering and never had to show your ticket again).
