Hell yea Hold On Rocked that old school Pearl Jam feeling,
BUT SO DID SAD, same Idea here, emotion, vocal strength, awww....the goose bumbs!

SAD

all the photographs are peeling
colors turn to gray, he's stayin'
in his room with memories for days, he faced
an undertow of futures laid to waist, embraced
by the loss of one he could not replace

and there's no reason that she'd pass
and their is no God with the plan, it's sad
and his holiness is proof, it's sad
he could only love you, it's sad

the door swings, through a passing fable
a fate we may delay, we say
holding on to live within our embrace
eleven nights, he laid in bed
hoping that dreams would bring her back, it's sad
and his holiness is proof, it's sad
he could only love you, it's sad

holding his last breath, believing
he'll make his way, but she's not forgotten
he's haunted, he's searching for escape

if just one wish could bring her back, it's sent
and his holiness is proof, it's sad
he will always love you, it's sad

  • oh yeah, this song was originally titled "Letter To The Dead",
back in the day.......Ed wrote that if death is to embark onto another shore, then this song is what it's like to be on land, while your partner is out at sea....something like that, not an exact qoute

  • My mistake sorry, he wrote that about "Other Side", wich I think is the third best previously unreleased track on LD

    love both!
So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing

I'm listening to Sad on repeat. Thanks for the lyrics, I had a few messed up. Now I can sing along!:D The music reminds me of an old western at the start. I love how the rhythm's just so consistent, Matt's AWESOME, and those boys on guitar make me swoon. It's such a story of heartbreak and passion. I never knew guys could be so sensitive. Thanks PJ!!
