Inspired by the black thread... when I think of the greatest line-
"I know one day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star, but in somebody else's sky, but why, can't it by mine?"
That is what comes to mind.
Any other great one liners?

i'll keep takin' punches until their will grows tired
i will stare the sun down until my eyes go blind
hey i won't change direction, and i won't change my mind
I'm a liar
Here's my church
I sing in the choir
definetely that one;)
I'll Hold The Pain... Release...
Yourself
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself, oh
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense
One of my fav lyrics is from footsteps, especially:
"Don't even think about getting inside. Voices in my head. Oh, voices.
I got scratches all over my arms. One for each day since I fell apart"
and
"And if there's something you'd like to do, just let me continue to blame you"
Caught a bolt 'a lightnin'...cursed the day he let it go really hits home at the moment
I have to say I can't really answer this one very well without writing a damned thesis on it but my very very favs.. are..:
Where's Mike McCready, my GOD he's been ATE
and
I am the shore line, but you are the sea..the sea.. "
I have to admit that is by far one of the most beautiful lyrics since some of Pink Floyd's no contest.. PJ wins again.. that's saying alot because in my world of music... LONG before PJ was PF. So.....
just kidding, Im with Cutback with this part of Present Tense
You can spend your time alone re-digesting past regrets, oh
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself, oh
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense
''so i'll just lie alone and wait for the dream..that i'm not ugly and you're looking at me.."..i got shit
"If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done"...down
''it's no crime to escape..''all those yesterdays
''i wish iwas as fortunate as me..''wishlist
i agree with the ''black'',''present tense'',indifference'' lyrics but....
i'll guess it never stops..
so much great lyrics..
don't forget that we are the luckiest fans in the world....
keep on pjing.........
and always remember ''it's no crime to escape!!!"
A human being that was given to fly"
"And what's the truth, the truth that lies at home
It's on the inside and I can't get it off"
Recognized it by the wedding band
Said it's ok, do you want some more?
I said, yeah
Said You'll see dragons after 3 or 4
I said, yeah
Like a tear in all we know
Once dissolved we are free to grow
What is human, what is more?
I'll answer this when I get home
It's a wave... building before it breaks"
they are important lyrics to me...kinda hits home & keeps me going.
edit: 1000th post:)
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
and always remember ''it's no crime to escape!!!"
i'm also very fond of "off he goes" ('....seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned')
"parting ways" - '....standing like a statue....a chin of stone, a heart of clay'
"untitled" (from live on 2 legs) is so, so passionate
"save u" is amazing ('...go ahead & let urself fall, i'm right below ya now')
"corduroy" ('...i dont wanna hear from those who know, they can buy but cant put on my clothes....')
its really endless!

The risk I took was calculated, but man, am I bad at math - The Mincing Mockingbird
We will find a way, we will find our place..."
"Sometimes I know, sometimes I rise
Sometimes I fall, sometimes I don't
Sometimes I cringe, sometimes I live
Sometimes I walk, sometimes I kneel
Sometimes I speak of nothing at all
Sometimes I reach to myself, dear god"
And of course, probably one of the greatest lines in any song:
""I will feel alive... as long as I am free...""
]i'lll hold the pain, release me.
i'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me,
i'l open up, release me, RELEASE ME.
Take my hand, my child of love
Come step inside my tears
Swim the magic ocean,
I've been crying all these years
i hope i never have to on a perminent basis ....
That line places its finger on the pulse of humanity. To enjoy that line is open admission to having lived that line. It captures love's loss. It's bleeding becomes the ink on the page.
Timeless and Classic.
It is the everday Romeo and Juliet.
Mr. Bruno
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
well Mr . Bruno when you put it that way i believe it is the best ED has ever written ......this thread should end with that ....
?...you lost me with that one....
A thousand thanks, good sir!
It is sir, isn't it? Mam?
"And wherever you've gone
And wherever we might go
It don't seem fair
Today just disappeared
Your light's reflected now
Reflected from afar
We were but stones
Your light made us stars."
"Its an art to live with pain
Makes the light into grey
Lost nine friends we'll never know
2 years ago today
And if our lives became too long
Would it add to our regret?
And the young, they can lose hope
'cause they can't see beyond today.
The wisdom that the old can't give away."
"What went wrong?
Walking tightrope high
Over moral ground
Seeing visions of
falling up somehow.
Do come down
With the living let
What is living love
So unforgiving yet
needing forgiveness first.
God, what do you say?"
"Everyone is practicing
But, this world's an accident.
I was a fool because I thought
I thought the world
Turns out the world thought me.
It's all the other way 'round
We're upside down."
"And like big weeds...with big leaves
Stealing light from what's beneath
Where they have more
Still they have more"
"Oh dear Dad,
Can you see me now?
I am myself
Like you, somehow.
I'll wait up in the dark
For you to speak to me
I'll open up.
Release me"
"I don't want to think, I want to feel
How can I feel?"
we sit around and wonder exactly why our marriage should feel threatened by gay marriage
if I knew where it was I would take you there...
There's much more than this ... "breath"
