Fenway on Sept 2nd, hardest day of my life...

I'm just writing this to write it down. Get it out.

September 2nd is the 24th anniversary of my mothers passing. I was 14. We're from Boston originally and Fenway means a lot to me. It was the first place I ever saw a baseball game. My mom took me. Interestingly, I ended up playing 6 years of professional baseball, thanks to my mom's encouragement of my dreams. l

I sat up for a long time at night, listening to Release, hoping for some sign. Some contact. A dream. Something. Those words ring so true to me, and they still. do. I had family friends telling me how they dreamt of my mom, but I never did. I just sat there, in the dark, hoping she'd "speak" to me.

I'm taking my wife to her first PJ show on 9/2. It's also her first New England trip. If they play release, it will be like life coming full circle in a way (cheesy, I know).

Thanks for letting me vent. Here's to hoping 9/2 is as cathartic for me as it could be. If anyone has any magical connections, Release on 9/2 would bring tears to my eyes.

Greg

Mom died when I was 6. I struggle to know if my memories of her are real or if I’ve created them in my mind over time. “I am myself, like you somehow”...is the most meaningful, personal lyric I’ve ever heard. So true. I turn 40 in 2 hours and even still, wonder what parts of me come from my mom and if she is proud of me.

That's the most meaningful lyric to me since my mom passed last year. Everyone says I remind them of her, looks and personality. Hope you get to hear your request!

My dad passed away 3 weeks before the wrigley shows in 2016, those shows had me up and down and holy cow did it seem like they played a set list just for me....release, low light, light years, man of the hour and many more. I ended up taking my mom to night one and she is now a pj fan cause of it all. There were several songs that had brought tears to my eye,  but looking back it was huge in helping me heal my head. It’s amazing what this band is capable of doing. Hope you get to hear Release!!!
Cant buy what i want cause its free....
