a yellow bedletter (yes it's written that way) it's the letter they send the relatives when a soldier dies.

that with the car is funny, the other thing just the opposite

i thought i may have to do something with this kind of inventer of the blues, his name was huddie ledbetter and his nickname was leadbelly

anybody got an idea of the meaning of this song?

I think this are the lyrics if anybody minds

    Yellow Ledbetter

Unsealed on a porch a letter sat.
Then you said, "I wanna leave it again."
Once I saw her on a beach of weathered sand. And on the sand I wanna leave it again. Yeah.
On a weekend I wanna wish it all away, yeah.
And they called and I said that "I want what I said" and then I call out again.
And the reason oughta' leave her calm, I know.
I said "I know what I wear not the boxer or the bag."

Ah yeah, can you see them out on the porch? Yeah, but they don't wave.
But I see them round the front way. Yeah.
And I know, and I know. I don't want to stay.
    Make me cry...

I see... Ooh I don't know why there's something else.
    I wanna drum it all away... [ ;-) ]
Oh, I said, "I don't, I don't know wheather I was the boxer or the bag."

Ah yeah, can you see them out on the porch? Yeah, but they don't wave.
But I see them round the front way. Yeah.
And I know, and I know. I don't wanna stay at all.
    I don't wanna stay. Yeah.
    I don't wanna stay. (x2)
I don't... Don't wanna, oh... Yeah. Ooh... Ohh...

I don't think that this song has any meaning because Ed sings in live versions different texts
    BANZÄÄÄ

When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him
By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs
So this is what it's like to be an adult?
If he only knew now what he knew then

My grandparents lived on Ledbetter Street in Anniston, Alabama. Kinda cool.

Well fads they come, and fads they go,
But God I love that rock n roll.

It is an anti-patriotic song written during the gulf war. I t does have to do with families that sent their kids off to war.

This is what it says from the lost dogs cd---

Mr McCready-- a riff loosley based on..something i had during the ten sessions. I thought it was pretty. Eddie started making up words on the spot and we kept them. I still don't know what it's all about and I don't want to! I love it. Fans like it too!
