Maybe the greatest singer of all time. An absolute legend, and all her own instead of just the industry's construct, which happens too often to women in music. She is and always will be such a huge role model for female musicians in particular. And her music is completely timeless.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata

That proverbial "band in heaven" just got a major infusion of great soul.  A huge loss.
    R.I.P. Aretha Franklin.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.

Terriblly sad news, I know nobody stays forever, but it feels especially hard when someone of Aretha's calibre goes.  RIP :(
