Your favorite PJ song

Mine would have to be Animal, I Am Mine, Black, Lukin, Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town, and Yellow Ledbetter.

Of course there's a lot more :P
A man lies in his bed in a room with no door. He waits, hoping for a presence, something, anything to enter. After spending half his life searching. He still felt as blank as the ceiling at which he stared. He is alive, but feels absolutely nothing, so is he? When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him. By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs. So this is what it's like to be an adult? If he only knew now what he knew then. Lying sideways atop crumpled sheets and no covers. He decides to dream...dream up a new self...for himself.

"In 20 years no one will remember Limp Bizkit or any of these 'alternative' rip-off bands like they will Pearl Jam. They understand the word integrity, the others don't."
- Joey Ramone

In My Tree best song ever...
So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing
  • My favorite song , even though it is hard to choose, would have to be Daughter. Describes my relationship with my mother. I was moved when I first heard it!

It was a dream, not a nightmare. A beautiful dream I could never imagined in a thousand nods. I saw this girl next to me, she wasn't beautiful until she smiled. And I felt that smile come at me in heat waves following. Soaking through my body and out my finger tips in shafts of color. And I knew somewhere in the world, somewhere, that there was love for me.

Damn, what a hard question to answer.

I don't know that I could answer that, but I'll answer a different question. Which one is most emotionally moving to me? Long Road.

  • i couldnt ever pick a favorite song. like most people, it changes every day. When i hear release, i envision it playing at my fathers funeral. i would request it, because i am becoming more and more like my dad everyday. I actually knew him since i was born, and lived with him, he hasnt died. hard to imagine is one of the most amazing, moving songs i have ever heard in my entire life. rear view mirror is a great breakup song. probably the best breakup song ever. so much emotion and raw energy and momentum. momentum is something that eddie tlaks about, and it is my favorite element of pearl jam. thanks for everything you have done for me PJ, you will never know how much you have done
All the friends and family, all the memories going round

-Wishlist is the most listened to
-Lukin my favorite heavy Nirvana sounding song

  • Definately impossible to pick just one favorite song

Release - often brings tears to my eyes
    State of Love and Trust
Rearviewmirror - someone said best break-up song ever, I agree!
    Last Exit
    Save You
    Cordoroy
    Animal
    Off He Goes

I'll hold the pain, RELEASE ME!
  • Mine are in no order- except perhaps the first 2
    Yellow Ledbetter
    Footsteps
    All those yesterdays
    Light Years
    Off He Goes
    Present Tense
    Nothingman

and Betterman & Alive were in there, but I think I may have dropped those. I'm half inclined to add Down to the list, but if I did I'd have to add LBC, I got shit... it would never end then!
I need a fix 'cause I'm going down

  • It used to be Black & Rearviewmirror for a long time but now it's Yellow ledbetter & SAVE YOU-dam' good lyrics, just love the part at the end;"help me to help you help yourself"-so touching
"I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy."
"I may be drunk but at least I'm not insane."
    "I don't have a drinking problem 'Cept when I can't get a drink."
"There ain't no devil, there's just god when he's drunk"
    -Tom Waits
  • I try to keep my list of favorites down to a reasonable number, say ten to fifteen. Then I hear one I've never heard before--for example, I only listened to Breath for the first time about a month ago--and I have to work it into the list, but which one has to shift to make room? Now Lost Dogs has come out and I'm seriously loving Dead Man. Just too many great songs.

I just discovered this song for the first time on Lost Dogs. I LOVE it. It's absolutely beautiful. I can't possibly choose a favorite, but this one is definitely in the short list.
