Although not even close to as bad as the US ... we are seeing an increase in gun violence, especially Toronto.

    It's almost all gang violence, which tends to flair up from time to time in out biggest cities. These flair ups require a very targeted police reaction - a task force dedicated to putting out the fire. It's happened in Vancouver before, and also and especially in Surrey, which it's much worse than TO. The Surrey RCMP and government are working hard, and at this point the community is getting involved, now that a few innocents have been killed or injured because of mistaken identity hits and stray bullets. Gang related in every single case. It's got to be a group effort. These gangsters are people's children, almost all raised in those communities.
