A Wrigley Night 2 Request (and the most basic request of all time, Given to Fly) - Details Inside

So, two years ago, during the night off between Wrigley 1 and Wrigley 2, my brother ended his life. He told my mom that he wanted Given to Fly played at the funeral, and we did, that and Long Road. August 21st will be the two year anniversary of his death, and it still fucking sucks ass every damn day. August 20th, Night 2, will be my 109th PJ/Ed show (holy shit, I know...) - BUT - It will be my mom's FIRST PJ show, and first concert period she's gone to in god knows how long, and her first time in the beautiful city of Chicago. Since my brother died she's taken quite a liking to the band and often has her car set to PJ Radio on Sirius. We even got matching tattoos (her first, at 57 years old). 



I know Given to Fly will be played one of the two nights in Wrigley, and she can't make Night 1. I'm just hoping Given to Fly is played on Night 2 so she can sing it to the sky with me and however many tens of thousands of people will be there. Also, we'll be in GA, hanging near the back, I'm a tall bald dude with an entire arm that's tattooed black. If you see us, say hi!

    I cannot support this enough.  Hank is truly a unique and amazing human.  He has been a true friend to so many through lots of very rough times, my family included.  He won't ever say it and I can't explain it fully, but his tireless work for veteran's rights and with the homeless is quite extensive.  Anyone who knows him is aware of what I'm talking about.  If you don't know him, you should.  The world is a better place with him in it and he keeps this rock spinning in the right direction.  I was with him in 2016 and have seen from a distance what his family has gone through since 8-20-16.  Any sort of healing and peace this might bring is more than deserved. 

    I love you dude and can't wait to see you both next week.

    Bud can you feel the EVEN FLOW of energy building. ONCE you and your mother arrive ALIVE JUST BREATHE and know that It's WHO YOU ARE and after traveling this LONG ROAD we all are hoping you and yours feel DEEP RELEASE.     Given to Fly has always been one of my favorite songs. I understand your pain and I hope you and your mom get to hear it live. My husband's bff took his own life 8 years ago. Hugs to both of you!
