I'm sure I'm not right, but when I hear "Off He Goes", it seems to me like Eddies talking about himself, knowing himself and the changes he goes through--some of which may be cyclical.

What do you think?

P.S. Off He Goes is one of my favorite songs because I have the above interpretation which I highly identify with.
If there was a chair in which I could comprehend, I would stand always and embrace the path

  • Yes, Eddie wrote it about himself. I believe it is the 6/16/00 Poland show where Ed says "this next song is about being friends with an asshole" (while pointing to himself).
"I'll do whatever the song dictates - if it doesn't need a real lead, then I won't do one. But if it does, then I'll fuckin' go off." - Mike

"Japan is awesome; the fans there knew all the words to all the songs...at least phonetically." - Stone

"I know this song so well, I can smoke a cigarette, have a drink, brush my teeth, take a shit, and mow the lawn while singing it. But I'll only be doing a couple of those things during this version." - EV
