"Who You Are"

come to send, not condescend
transcendental consequence
is to transcend where we are
who are we? who we are
trampled moss on your souls
changes all you're a part
seen it all, not at all
can't defend fucked up man
take me a for a ride before we leave...
circumstance, clapping hands
driving winds, happenstance
off the track, in the mud
that's the moss in the aforementioned verse
just a little time, before we leave...
stop light plays its part
so i would say you've got a part
what's your part? who you are
you are who, who you are

I love this song, but what the fuck does it mean?

I'm not sure what it means, or any other song of his for that matter. A lot of times it seems like they're about little things or even words that arise that day and sound good together. More for the sound of the words together than the meaning.

  • I think it's about how life is fleeting. We have so little time here and it's not really enough for any deep significance. Life's experiences rub off on us, shape us, and we can only play our part in the scheme of things the best way we can in the time we're given.

Thanks for posting this. I'd never really thought about the lyrics before and the song has just taken on a whole new meaning for me.
". . . as each breath goes by I only own my mind."
  • thanks, that helps.
