Can anyone tell me what this songs about?

For instance....

?? anyone?
I guess it was the beatings that made me wise, but I am not about to give thanks or apologize.
Saw things so much clearer once you were in my rearviewmirror.

    There was a song by Micheal Jackson with that lyric and melody in it. (Just that one line of course!)

    It was for a movie about a rat named Ben. :)

    It's about people in general. Eddie is comparing people to rats and saying that we have nothing on them; that people do a lot of bad/crazy things that even rats wouldn't do.

    And I hate to shoot down another person's ideas, but the reply about Catholics is preposterous. Get a clue.
