Do The Evolution

I was wondering what you guys think Eddie means when he says " ignorant Indians got nothing on me" ? Does he got something against Indians?

  • No he doesn't mean that he thinks that Indians are ignorant, he is speaking in third person. My interpetation is that this is waht the first English settlers thought, and they had a sense of superiority over the indians.
That is my take on it at least.
  • He's putting himself in the perspective of the white settlers who thought they were the first ones over here and the Indians were just an ignorant breed of human.
A man lies in his bed in a room with no door. He waits, hoping for a presence, something, anything to enter. After spending half his life searching. He still felt as blank as the ceiling at which he stared. He is alive, but feels absolutely nothing, so is he? When he was six, he believed that the moon overhead followed him. By nine, he deciphered the illusion, trading magic for fact, no trade-backs. So this is what it's like to be an adult? If he only knew now what he knew then. Lying sideways atop crumpled sheets and no covers. He decides to dream...dream up a new self...for himself.

"In 20 years no one will remember Limp Bizkit or any of these 'alternative' rip-off bands like they will Pearl Jam. They understand the word integrity, the others don't."

  • The whole song is an angry, cynical look at mankind's destruction of itself and the world around us.
I mean, does the line "I can kill 'cuz in God I trust" sound like something Eddie believes in?

Is it just me or has Ed sometimes in live versions said 'Atheists' (sp.) rather than 'Indians'?

I'm reading that book right now. It has really opened my eyes up to a few things.

It's the complete opposite of what I thought it would be.
