What is Blood about?

What do you think blood is about? I always thought it was about the media, and writers in particular and how they take something that is so important to him (his music, his life etc.) and make into their own creation for profit. Creating his enemies and such. Can you guys see this interpretation?

My brother seems to think it's about haroine. I can see that to maybe but I have always thought of it this way as ed exclaiming the possession of his life music etc and how important it is and his anger towards the media for taking it away from him or trying.

I agree with you. If it was about injecting something like a drug it would be "push so slowly" not "pull so slowly". He's talking about blood being taken. Or the life being sucked out of him by media and such like you said.

    SPIN me round
    ROLL(ing stone) me over
    fucking CIRCUS

    See a trend? :)

I think the telling line is really pronounced when he screams it in concert: "suck my fu**ing life out man".

It's all about the media contorting everything he said in the early days.

"Paint Ed big. Turn Ed into...one of his enemies".
Bright eyed kid: "Wow Typo Man, you're the best!"
Typo Man: "Thanks kidz, but remembir, stay in skool!"

Yes, you pull the dropper back in a syringe towards you to take blood, say, from a donor. The image would work that way.
  • its definitely about the media driving him mad...

  • think it´s about the media shit coming up for ed in the 90ies after the success of ten, and i think that´s right, but maybe there´s another meaning, too.

My friend brought up the point one day that it might be about a record contract. Signing it and then having to put out what they want. IDK just an idea.

    I agree.

    "Maker of my enemies"

    MmmmmHmmmmm.

That song must have been so theraputic to write and sing.
The passion of it comes across in a big way.
Ever crank it up and sing along with that song when you're really pissed?
It's a great way to vent.
