What to do in Seattle

Hi all, my wife and I are going to the home shows and spending a few days in Seattle.  Does anyone have any recommendations of things to do that arn't named MoPoP or the space needle?  Im sure we will hit up some breweries and Pike Place Market.  Super fired up for the 2 shows!!!!! Thanks all!!!!!

Other than the things you mentioned (I've been to the space needle and it was sort of a disappointment/lots of waiting in line but Pike Place is really fun)...

If you want to get out of town for a day trip, there are ferries that go out to the San Juan Islands or Victoria (Clipper Ferries).  Sort of full day trips but something cool to do on the Thursday between shows (my wife and I are doing a San Juan Islands kayak trip while in town).  Or if you are a hiker you could rent a car for the day and drive to Mt. Rainier.  And the last time I was in Seattle I took a cool waterfront boat tour that was only a couple of hours (Argosy Cruises).

I'm sure some locals can chime in with some other things to check out while not at the shows, but these were things I came across when researching the area.

I suggest that you do a forum search for "Things to do in Seattle", because there are already literally dozens of threads about this with tons of good info.

Yeah, 100%. I just realized the trip is next week and I jumped on and posted.  I will definitely do that.  Thx.

I'm a big fan of the Zoo. As zoos go, it's one of the best.

Beyond that, it depends on your interests. My husband and sons like the Museum of Flight, but I think I'd rather have a root canal than go there again (it's a very good aviation museum, but the topic bores me to tears).

We've always liked the Ballard Locks and fish ladder.

As I've posted in another thread, I'll be busy running on the Burke-Gilman trail....

Missed out on the Pearl Jam specific tours, but going to hit up the London Bridge Studio tour on Friday morning to kick off the day.

If anyone is looking for a few good shows this week, check out the Stargazer (Mother Love Bone tribute) show tomorrow night at J & M Cafe in Pioneer Square and the Washed in Black (Pearl Jam tribute) show Thursday night at the Edgewater Hotel on Alaskan Way. I've seen both bands numerous times and they do a fantastic job!
