But because Im so nice today I'll give them to you anyway :)

He's got a big gold ring which says "Jesus Saves"
And it's dented from the punch thrown at work that day,
Where he smashed a metal locker where he kept his things
After the big boss said you'd best be on your way

    Oh yeah...
    So this life is sacrifice
    Oh yeah...
    Jumping trains just to survive

Well his wife and kids' asleep but he's still awake
On his brain weighs the curse of thirty bills unpaid
Gets up, lights a cigarette he's grown to hate
Thinkin if he can't sleep, how will he ever dream

    Yeah...
    So this life is sacrifice
    Oh yeah...
    To a stranger's bottom line
    Oh yeah...
    I've seen the light
Ohh ohh ohhh... Ohh ohh ohhhh...
    I'm scared of life
    Near to death
Ohh ohh ohhh... Ohh ohh ohhhh...
    I've seen the light
    Scared of life

    Yeah...
    So this life is sacrifice
    Oh yeah...
Was a dream that had to die
    Oh yeah...
    I've seen the light
Ohh ohh ohhh... Ohh ohh ohhhh...
    And I'm scared of life
    Near to death
Ohh ohh ohhh... Ohh ohh ohhhh...
    I've seen the light
    Scared of life
    Ohh ohh ohhh... Ohhhhhh Ohhh..
    And I'm near to death
    Here to die
    Scared of life
    Near to death
    Here to die
    Scared of life...

I thought it's "scared alive" in place of "Scared of life"
If you keep yourself as the final arbiter you will be less susceptible to infection from cultural illusion.

I LOVE UNEMPLOYABLE!!! Can't wait for the new record...Just a little more than a month away now!

  • pretty good song... my local radio station just played it. that's sonic 102.9 in edmonton. yes indeed, just over a month..

No offense to Pearl Jam, but those are some pretty awful lyrics. They sound like they were written by a band influenced by Nickelback songs. The song itself sounds great, though, one of my favorites I've heard from the new album so far. Good thing some of the lyrics are difficult to understand.
  • I think the lyrics are pretty solid. They're not quite "This is how you remind me of what I really am" .....
Its been 8 years, but I still believe...PJ in NZ 06!

"No matter how cold the winter, theres a springtime ahead'

I can see what you mean. These lyrics don't compare to:
"Someday, somehow I'm gonna make it all right but not right now."
That is pure brilliance. Chad Kroger or whatever the hell is a God in the world of lyrics. I think he should make a book of poems. It would be sooooo good...

    ...for me to poop on!
