Appreciation for ALL NIGHT

wow...this song just blows me away....with the layered vocals, the amazing riff...and that dead stop they come to and then blow right back into the song. I hope, SO MUCH, that this song can find a way into the live set. Imagine it opening a show! Damn!

All Night rocks!

  • My thoughts exactly!!! This wuold rock as an opener! Especially that solo about 30 seconds in to the song. For me, this is such a summer song...Im going to have to listen to it in the warm weather blasting it with the windows down

Yeah, you're right, it's totally a warm weather song...even though I have yet to hear it in warm weather! But I can just smell the grass and the sweat when I hear the song...a great beginning to an amazing evening at a warm, outdoors concert. Damn!

  • One of my favorite songs on LD!

    got all night
    plenty of time
    take these chains
    from my eyes
    so alive
    gettin 'it prime
    take 'em there
    before you die
    why be satisfied
    we've got all night
    please be here
    top of the stairs
    no place for
    the president
    build some fears
    left outside
    fuck, be content
    to just get by
    why be satisfied
    we've got all night
    you scream and wail
    you see who cares
    scream and wail
    see who cares
life has nothin' to do with
    killin' time
    so why be satisfied
    we've got... all night
    we've got all night
    we've got all night

"Life has nothing to do with killing time"....holy wow. Another example of Eddie's ability to write very positive lyrics without sounding trite or cheesy. This band makes me want to stay alive.

Why, thank you! I didn't post the lyrics, but I'll take credit for the thread.

I was also just thinking, about "All Night"...it's pretty unique as a PJ song, isn't it? I mean, nothing else sounds quite like it. Am I right?

That's what makes it so cool. PJ hasn't incorporated that heavy vocal layering effect into many of their songs (except Arc). It wouldn't mesh well on any album but No Code would be the closest fit.

I cannot wait for the summer so i can blast this out my car windows

Do you think if they performed it, Ed would do any vocal looping like he did with Arc live...or would he just sing it like a normal song?

I guess he would sing it just like a normal song....but would it be as good then?
