Come to Bridge School and if PJ doesn't play it for me, I expect you to be there to play it and ease the pain. :)
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

  • Clouds roll by.
    "Reeling," is what they say.
Or is it just my way?
    Wind blows by.

    Low light. Sidetracked. Low light.
Can't see my tracks your scent way back.

Can I be here all alone?
Clear a path to my home.
    Blood runs dry.

Books and jealousy tell me wrong.
    I will feel calm.
    Poise blows by.

Low light. Car crash. Low light.
Can wear my mask. Your first my last.

    Voice goes by.
Two birds is what they'll see getting lost upon their way.
    Wind rolls by.

Low light. Eye sight. Low light.
I need the light. I'll find my way from wrong.
What's real? The dream I see

THIS SONG IS AMAZING! It calms me. PJammin' you didn't get this at any of your shows this year? :( Have you ever heard it live? OMG you poor thing. My LOWLIGHT prayers are with you for sre. :)

All my beggin payed off at MSG 1! Thank you Pearl Jam. As I flew to NYC I watched the sunrise to this song and that was a straight up spiritual experience right there. I love this song with a passion.

What does it mean? Well ofcourse it's different to everyone but I really see it as over coming dependancies/depression/loss and finding YOUR own way on your own. Getting through bad situations by maybe hiding feelings and emotions, NOT dealing with them but realizing that eventually you have to but also realizing that you can still stay positive and overcome obstacles and come out of them stronger. It's about belief, hope, inspiration. It's about not believing everything you read or hear...just believing what YOU want to believe...making a life and a never-ending dream for yourself. Something along the lines of that anyways.

I will you tell you something...after this tour, this song means all of that to me, and more.

    I LOVE YOU LOWLIGHT!!

This is one song that moves me to "re-digest past regrets". I've been watching it on repeat from the dvd and it is such a heartfelt rendition. Brings me to tears, but calms as well.
  • the version from the msg dvd is awsome...

  • I'm so glad to see so many people praising this song. It became my favourite Pearl Jma song the 1st time I heard it on my own. Then thumbing my way did. It's a very close thing for me between the 2 songs but low light just edges it, if nothing else because of the way it flows. It's the same thing for me with Pink Floyd, with the final cut just edging it ahead of coming back to life (in similar fashoin tfc took over the 1st time I heard it as an adult). Low life could easily have been the sequal to Last Kiss in terms of what it's about.

    this song is amazing :D
So that is how I learned the lesson that everyone is alone. And your eyes must do some raining if you are ever going to grow. But when crying don't help and you can't compose yourself. It is best to compose a poem, an honest longing or simple song of hope.
    That is why I'm singing

Of all the highlights for me from the past tour, reliving hearing Lowlight at Boston 2 is my favorite. I remember being 12 rows away from the stage on Mike's side, and hearing Ed say we're going to play a Jeff song we haven't played in awhile and turning to the people in my row, who all bought tickets with me on the same day when Ticketmaster released extra seats and all saying Lowlight at once and then having them break into it. It was so made the 6 hours I drove each way to go that show worth it. I just remember having my eyes closed and feeling the music because it was such a moment and totally unexpected. Just another reason why I love this band.
