I like the Tsang, had a feeling it would not go over well here though. I don't get the thought process on the double eyed animals on the badges and shirts. No idea where Ian Williams was going with it.

I dig tonight’s poster. I see the maiden comparison. It screams rock n roll

I really don't like modern day gig posters for the most part. I miss the flat, simple style of the 96-2006 era. When they actually looked like gig posters and full-blown illustrations.

Ames from 96-98 were gold. Since then most things (including Ames) are too thought out and complex for my eyes
My recent favorites are simple. A Native American face (munk one), a guy walking on a bridge (mumford).

EDIT: *NOT* full-blown illustrations
Id Like to see Dan Stiles do some. His style is a little more old school gig poster-ie.

I just looked him up. Yes, I dig his style. Looks like he's done some work for some PJ-related artists, too. I see some Sleater-Kinney, Petty, Midlake, Gaslight Anthem in there.
What Miles said inspired him about the poster- "A massive, unbelievable honour to finally unveil my first gigposter for American rock legends @pearljam, who are playing tonight at @ziggodome in lovely Amsterdam, Netherlands! Since the city's name is derived from its origins as a fishing village and port on the Amstel River, and Europe is known for its artistic heritage (and I'm an invested art/history/museum nerd), I took inspiration from a piece in the Dutch National Maritime Museum, nicknamed "The Golden Carriage of the Water" which is a royal barge featuring sculptural depictions of the Roman god of water Poseidon at the bow drawn by three seahorses, flanked by cherubs, and decorated with numerous sea creatures and luxurious adornments. My poster is essentially a reinterpretation of that with my own psychedelic twist and an extra injection of the beauty, darkness, and dynamism Pearl Jam are known for. The prehistoric sea creatures surrounding everything are derived from the intro to their masterful video for 'Do The Evolution,' which I felt matched up nicely. Big thanks to the band and @tsurt for the opportunity as well as @inhousesilkscreen for the beautiful screenprinting job!"
