New kittens

filling our days

galloping across the kitchen floor

two brothers, well matched

black, no bigger than a large shoe

with laces to bat and chew

they wrestle and play

that’s their hard work day

they nap intertwined

2 heads form an X

so beautiful, sighing

they’ve taken over our days

we train them to be in the family

sitting on the floor for them to climb on

our new boys 

born to a feral mom in the back yard

we adopted them at 5 weeks

now,  they’re young princes in the house!
