In my Tree (what inspired ED)

LesbelgesLesbelges Posts: 434
A long time ago I read a book and I decided to write a song about the general story cause it was so good. Then I remembered thought since the theme is about people being in trees if I could get some inspiration from that song, well i looked at the words and it dawned on me that In my Tree was exactly like this book. I didn't mention it because I was not sure, but someone else on Pearljamonline.it also made the connection.

The book Ed must have read before writing In my Tree is:

  • It always reminded me of Catch 22 when Yossarian is sitting naked in the tree. Also of when you are little and climb into a tree. You are momentarily king or queen of the world and free. I will have to check out this book though.

I've always written that off as too obvious.

    And I'm so high..

Ed's far too subtle for that. :p

  • I always thought the song was about that chick in the early 90s who camped out up in a redwood tree to protest the logging industry.

Well I was born and lived in Belgium (Overijse, then moved to Genval). However I am of Italian nationality and study in the US. In August I will start working for General Motors in Detroit.

Interestingly, I actually read the book in French instead of Italian. The title for the French book is "Le Baron Perche' "

I think it was called "My Side of the Mountain". A teenager lived in a tree and had a pet bird.
