No one can tell me I can’t survive without being signed on to the internet world
And I’m willing to bet you’ll be happier than ever.
I’m headed up there in two weeks to close on the house! I’m looking forward to it immensely I’m done with suburban life!

I’d rather live totally alone than having anything to do with AI! There will be plenty of people who will want to live without it in their lives!
Totally agree! Happy with the investments I made in AI stock but that’s about it for me. I come across customers who literally can’t think or make a decision without asking AI. Fucking scary.
    yep.

or can't have a discussion without consulting it. my boss has started doing that shit.
There are some decisions that are helped by A.I. I wrote a song and wasn’t happy with one of the chords in a progression (I generally prefer to write melody first but whatever). I asked ChatGPT for some suggestions, and to explain the rationale behind each suggestion. It gave me about seven alternatives, and excellent theory-sound suggestions, and the best part was it’s walking me through the logic of its suggestions.  I learnt a lot. And made a song better.

Stock advice wouldn’t be a good idea though, as its basis would be logical when for humans it’s logical and emotion.

If you have a know-it-all brother in law, it also helps shut him up.

now that is a cool idea. i would try it for something like this. glad it was able to help.

I figure no one would bat a lash at using a thesaurus which gives you alternative word choices, so why not this for an element of a song? I don’t feel that the creative process was at all diminished by my doing this, which is cool!

Denmark is making history with a bold proposal to protect human identity in the age of AI. The new copyright law would grant every citizen full ownership of their likeness — including their face, voice, and body data — ensuring that no AI system or company can replicate or use these without consent.
This comes amid the global rise of AI deepfakes, where hyper-realistic digital copies of people are used for scams, fake news, and even political manipulation. Denmark’s proposal treats a person’s appearance and voice as intellectual property, giving individuals legal grounds to demand removal or compensation if their likeness is misused.
If passed, this could become a blueprint for digital human rights worldwide, redefining how nations protect citizens in an era where identity can be cloned by machines. By turning personal traits into property, Denmark is sending a clear message: our humanity deserves copyright protection.

Important to point out this is a live video detection system, and it seems the tech is not ready yet. At least in this case

was watching a Netflix show the other day, which continually brings in new characters and others not appearing for a long time. AI is perfect for that, asking who X or Y is, what their backstories are, it’s much better and quicker than getting a list of links that may or may not have the information, and needing to scroll thru large webpages scanning for information. Not practical while watching a show.

That’s about where the tech is now. Live video analysis seems very complex.

Once they get the kinks out, and kids learn to not shove foil into their pockets, I think that's pretty cool.
It's pretty commonly accepted at schools that we only ever know about a small fraction of weapon actually brought on. I've had a student tell me another student showed them a knife. Ive been on campus when a student reported that another student showed them a gun. We assume most of the time they aren't flashing it around and don't get caught. Most schools probably have at least 1 weapon on campus right now as we're reading this.

I'm not sure why you thought it was a joke to know that weapons are at schools most days and these sort of systems will be a good thing once they refine the details.

We have new AI software to assist with one major task, and it’s a huge process. Corp leaders buy into the crap that it’s a snap of the fingers and in reality it’s like training a young new hire who speaks a different language and that has to be taught everything, in a process that more resembles IT than finance. It’s like trying to get the IT folks to speak finance language. They thought this thing would be ready by next month, and it’s still way off. And it’s possible they will accept a more limited role from this software because they have the attention span up until the next earnings release (always less than three months) and they always need to claim victory.

so it’s down to the usual corporate crap…yessing those in power while their ideas are mediocre at best. It’s going to take a lot longer than they think and it’s difficult to get them to see how complex the task is to train it.

Again, the point has gone over your head.
I'm saying I am thankful for these systems. Of course there will be kinks the first time they are used. But weapons are at school every day, this is a good thing once it gets better. Still don't know why keeping weapons out of schools is a joke.
Now that they are aware of the mistake, they will take measures to make sure it isn't repeated and do better about distinguishing a tin foil bag from a weapon. Keeping weapons out of schools is good, don't know why it's a joke. Obviously no one has even been injured at school from chips. Don't we want schools to be safer? But you keep poking fun at the attempt to do so.

so let's not try to limit access to guns. just try to detect them by something that detects chips just as well.

i guess if you can't find the guns at least they can find the chips.
