    soon i will be leavin'
    look me in the eye
no matter what's in front of me
it's your face that i'll see
  • great song.. fun to sing along.. i was driving the other day and listening to Garden.. and I passed by a graveyard. "I will walk with my shadow flag into your garden.. garden of stone.." maybe when he says "garden of stone" he is referring to a graveyard.
There's a fear they'll soon be parting ways.
  • I enjoy the opening lyric "She don't wonder in this place." Killer stuff. If you would like you may indulge in a great version of it right here:

  • It's in my top 10 of PJ's. I've always loved it and felt it didn't get the respect it deserved.

There's a good interpretation of it on theskyiscrape website.
One of them sounds pretty accurate, about the gadren of stone being a false, pretend world. Check it out...

I remember my first listen to TEN knowing the hits were jeremy, alive, evenflow.. when i heard GARDEN i was blown out of my seat.. classic blues strains and so beautiful.. my fav of of ten for sure..
Down the street you can hear her scream youre a disgrace
As she slams the door in his drunken face
    And now he stands outside
And all the neighbours start to gossip and drool
He cries oh, girl you must be mad,
What happened to the sweet love you and me had?
Against the door he leans and starts a scene,
And his tears fall and burn the garden green
  • i *love* this song. It's so powerful... wow.

i went to both msg shows, a long island show and some jersey shows and nooo garden. i was REALLY hoping they'd bust it out AT the garden. especially after he read someones sign one of the nights and was like "Garden? Yeah we are at the garden" and the crowd went friggin insane... sigh. theres always next tour!

  • Listenin' to this song on repeat. Hope it's brought back sometime.
  • It would be so awesome if they played Garden again. It's one of my two favorite PJ songs.

  • I was actually contemplating using this as my wedding song...
we ended up going with a song from 311 but my wedding music is going to include almost every song from Ten...

  • Garden is a very sensual song. Never get tired of hearing it.
  • i've always wonderered what the garden of stone actually is

    - is it a shopping centre
  • I think it's about joining someone in death. Sorry to hear about the mother in law, I reckon a good Porch tag for my gf's parents would be unplugged, atlanta 94 and the night finsbury park gig. It would go something like...

There's something. There's something I don't mind. There's a choice, in that time. I don't see changing in my good time to make a change for it. There is something in this to address. I know how I want to dress. How I want to live. How I want to choose.

If you have something to say then say it(x4)

IF YOU FUCK WITH MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, THEN I'LL FUCK WITH YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU(x4)

    Then the screaming bit...

By the way Garden wasn't played at Verona 2000.
