    CLASSIC, which version? :D

Pearl Jam would be original Long Road or Present Tense.
Otherwise, Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here or Mazzy Star - Into Dust.

Then the big Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......... Goodnight!
Like a book among the many on a shelf...

    Dublin 02 Arena - 22/6/10. Belfast Odyssey Arena - 23/6/10. London Hyde Park - 25/6/10. Berlin Wuhlheide - 30/6/10.

  • One thought that comes to mind, PJ's cover of Love, Reign O'er Me. I like the 2 guitars and Eddie's growl enough for it to top the amazing original. And with that song, I wouldn't mind a little rain :)

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

Probably something upbeat/uplifting that I could lose myself in for a while. Maybe a Phish jam like the Bathtub Gin from 8/17/97 or Chalkdust Torture from 7/10/99. Both peak in a beautiful way as the jams unfold and put me in my happy place every time.

Came across this thread and almost laughed out loud...

Since I have lung cancer and apparently it is incurable, reading this kind of thread is, should I say, quite surreal. I'm doing ok, but there's also the inevitable...

I knew that someone has very good sense of humor upstairs when I bought the new BACKSPACER album and listened to Just Breathe.... very mixed emotions with that song... Somedays I just can't listen to it at all. And other days it's so comforting and relaxing...

I really do hope I still have days left to see my alll time favourite band live!!! Too bad their tour doesn't land anywhere near, so it might stay a dream unfulfilled.

Anyways, all the best to you all good people!

It's really touching to read your post and my heartfelt prayers are with you... from my experiences with loved ones who have been on their way home, I have come to see that they attain a sense of peace and wisdom which I can only aspire to and so sincerely respect... from reading your post, it appears and i would like to think that you too have found some peace... I truly believe diggin Pearl Jam (or at times not being able to dig because things get far too intense) will allow you to realize just completely, your every emotion and feeling, to appreciate the lows and the highs ... because for me, their music and words have made my life only too meaningful, and often the emotions felt are too much to bear.... but then this is our life and the deeper we get, the better I reckon...

then again I'm sure you know all this and much more... take good care

    Release

    ...crackling vinyl version.
  • It would have to be Man of the Hour, that has always been a very emotional song for me. Especially after my grandfather died last year.
  • Tough choice... But prolly Release, it says everything about life and death.

My friend passed away a few years back. . . he was 19. I didn't cry when I found out or at the funeral, I was mostly just angry.

I got into my car after the funeral and took the long way home. I was so angry at god. I turned on the radio and Bargain by The Who came on. . . his favourite song. I screamed that song at the top of my lungs with tears rolling down my face. The sun came out from the clouds and I felt like that was how I said goodbye to him.

If I have to go, I'm going to go loud. I would rather be ashes than dust, and Bargain would be my last song.
If hope can grow from dirt like me ...
