Elderly Woman Behind......

Man this song always reminds me of someone in particular.......look at those lyrics, how can it not?

i seem to recognize your face
haunting, familiar, yet i can't seem to place it
cannot find the candle of thought to light your name
lifetimes are catching up with me
all these changes taking place, i wish i'd seen the place
but no one's ever taken me
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
i swear i recognize your breath
memories like fingerprints are slowly raising
me, you wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former
it's hard when, you're stuck upon the shelf
i changed by not changing at all, small town predicts my fate
perhaps that's what no one wants to see
i just want to scream...hello...
my god its been so long, never dreamed you'd return
but now here you are, and here i am
hearts and thoughts they fade...away...
hearts and thoughts they fade...away...
hearts and thoughts they fade, fade away...
hearts and thoughts they fade...

    i just want to scream...Hellooo!!
  • Small town is my best friend's and my song. It fits for the sheer fact that we were friends years ago, and then for whatever reason didn't talk for almost 6 years. shortly after our Junior year in high school we randomly hung out with a mutual friend and have been unseperable since.

There isn't a specific line or anything, it's every word that reflects our relationship and how in certain ways if it weren't for her (or me in her case) we would most likely be in a bad place right now. We were always there knock some sense into the other, or lend a shoulder to cry one.

How Small Town came to be our song: It came on the radio one day that summer and we were both just listening and then we both just belted out "I just wanna scream HELLOOO!"
    *I just wanna scream HELLO!*
  • it was this song that got my in to PJ

you could say it changed my life.

  • This is my son's favorite song right now! EVERYDAY I pick him up from daycare and the first thing he says is "MOM! hearts and thoughts..." meaning, 'hey, you know what to do, play that song' And this is EVERYDAY!! I'm not exaggerating here. So we hear the song over and over and over again the whole way home.

  • To paraphrase Phil Hartman on an episode of Talk Radio....

You would have to be a robot not to cry to that song.
