Wouldn’t it be nice to be neighbors?

Close enough to be friends but separate enough to have our own homes?

Sometimes I wish you could sit next to me and drink a warm beverage at midday

Can you picture us chatting as we walk some pets on a trail?

Maybe sometimes we’d play with delightful words?

A beloved neighbor, nearby, known to be a fun one

my dreams aren’t extravagant, but they are still out-of-reach

so often we spend time with people who just happen to be near

I’d rather reverse that and be near people I am already fond of
