Snow

In September,
or maybe October?
I was wishing for snow...
I  was dreaming about the beauty
the brightness, the whiteness
the way it felt!
and somehow I was lucky
snow fell for the first time near Christmas
and I felt fortunate and uplifted by the sight
not expecting more than that,
I was surprised by
the frequency of the frozen droplets this season
and it hasn’t stopped appearing
that’s the most unusual part
even though my brain knows that it is most likely due 
to Global Warming
it still feels like it’s a gift
just this morning I woke up to an unusual white blanket
it happened again!
so obvious that it made me smile
