edited March 2018 in The Porch
My tour buddy was thinking this would be amazing. Any chance a quick tour to honor TP?

Nope. Too soon anyhow. If something like this were to happen, it would have been with the Doors I think. Ed nailed Roadhouse Blues.

I wouldn't say so. I don't even want to tempt fate when Pearl Jam seem to be picking up their level of activity right now more than in recent times.

mike and benmont have already signed up to an event on march 30th so anything is possible
  • In recent months I've felt that Ryan Adams and The Heartbreakers would be a perfect match for a multitude of reasons.  RA's backing band has frequently changed over the years.  He has the perfect voice and style to do Tom Petty songs justice while the Heartbreakers could also back him on his own songs as well.
Plus his first solo album away from Whiskeytown was titled Heartbreaker.

i haven't heard a thing about any retirement before tom left us. in fact i heard tom was planning a fall tour doing wildflowers and i am not making that up! it breaks me apart knowing that we all missed the upcoming wildflowers tour and the release of all the bsides to that project. imo one of his greatest albums eva.

my mistake.  I just looked it up and you are correct. it was their last "big tour". he actually told a reporter 5 days before he died he had no intention of retiring. weird. I swear I read that.
