To me this song is stream of consciousness, so unles you dissect it line by line, it's almost impossible to understand. However, I think it is about mainly grappling with love and death. I think it all really comes together in the last 3 lines
"And Love...
And War...
And Love..."

I take the song to be a build up to that and these are a persons' dying thoughts as they are passing. The light hits them and these are their last thoughts they wish to leave behind. I didn't say that very well...but maybe you get my gist...Other thoughts on this song?

  • i adore this song, i take it as a love song, love that may not be there anymore for whatever reason, thoughts of being there with someone through all of life's trials, perhaps to me some regrets, as in not knowing what you had till its gone, and maybe being thankful you had that love at all. I think its a brilliant song one of my fave's for sure.

I think it's very confusing. I think there's a lot of love in there, but then there's the feeling that the protagonist could just leave it if it's not good enough. There's friends . . .

A lot of people are into the song like you:)
