Is there any new album talk?

I'm not on the board all the time so I may have missed a thread but has anyone seen any signs of new album activity?  It has almost been 5yrs since Lightning Bolt and they are about to start a new tour.  My fervent prayer is that they do a Radiohead/Beyonce-style surprise album drop in the near future.  A guy can hope.

    I have the same hope, but I haven't heard much. Only confirmation I saw that the seeds were being planted was when Jeff was on the Powell Movement podcast towards the end of 2017 and said they had been in Seattle writing new material.

    Interesting.  I hadn't heard that interview.  That's a positive sign anyway. :)

    I haven’t been playing super close attention but it seems very quiet. Hope something mind blowing is in the works.

    Yes there is. They are currently working on a new album. Members of the band have said so. They haven't mentioned the timing of a release, but It's likely we'll see it as early as late this year, or for sure next year.

    I'm sorry I don't have a link but one of them was quoted recently saying that a TYPICAL day over the last few months would be 2-4 of them getting together to write

    Jeff mentioned spending time in the studio with some of the guys recently. I doubt any recording has been done.

    I hope there is some talk of a New Album soon which means hopefully an Australian Tour soon too :)
