    Do they perfom this incredible song live?
    I never seen a bootleg with Brain of J on it...well actually I do not own a lot of boots. ^^
    I'm sure on some planet Good Charlotte's music is quite impressive, but their weak link is...this is earth.

    Yeh, it would have been Jack Irons, Matt Cameron only got involved during that tour, when Jack had to leave...

    This song tells me how plugged into American culture and the big, important issues Eddie really is and always has been. With all the specials on this past week about the assassination of President Kennedy, the fact that this issue haunted Ed enough to write about it, just makes me love the band more. I realize JFK wasn't perfect, but he represented a sense of youth and hope, and when he was murdered, our collective innocence was shaken, if not lost. "The whole world will be different soon." Yes, it is.

    Brain of J is definitley in my top 5 PJ songs of all time. I love the false start with Mike counting down. Jack's drums are KILLER on it too.

    Anyone ever hear the original live version? A little more raw and crass. I prefer the Yield era version but the 95-96 performances are cool as well

    I know most people who have posted on this thread have said the 1234-1234 bit but fuk I love it! All appreciation for the album opener is comin from me. **Bows down** VEDHEAD27 I totally agree... album openers don't get as much appreciation compared to most songs. Bring on the Brain Of JFK!

    A few things...

    Mike says 1234 1234...It clearly sounds just like him.

    And also Mike play the Open D guitar on this track and plays rhythm guitar as he wrote the riff. Stone plays all the lead(except that little riff before the bridge) including the solo.

    yeah thats one of my favourite pj songs too :)
    the entire dynamic of it just ROCKS. its very rare to hear a band go so damn well together.
    and so castles made of sand fall in the sea eventually...
