First Pearl Jam show in August. What should I expect?

I'm sorry if this is question is often repeated, but I have tickets to both of the Chicago shows. I've never seen Pearl Jam before and I've never really been active in any Pearl Jam communities. What should I expect? Do they usually have an opening act? What are some songs they'll probably play? How different do you think the two sets will be?

I'm well aware that Pearl Jam is a fantastic band that understands how to put on a great show. I'm not worried about it at all, I'm just wondering what to look forward to.

I would guess that there'll be a few songs played on both nights, but not so many that the show seems identical. They usually mix it up a bit like.

Allow me to be the First to say welcome aboard. Wow. Where to begin? Definitely expect to become addicted moving forward after your first 2 shows. Your life will never be the same again! Since you are going to Chicago, let me advise you to start being active here on the forums and by starting to get to know as many members as you can. Stay active on all the meet up threads, and things to do threads, etc... because in Wrigleyville you are going to see all the 10c members and fans from all over the place getting together hanging out at all the bars getting ready for the best experience of their lives. I don't anticipate any opening acts for any of the shows, as there really hasn't been any opening acts for the band in quite some time now. As for the songs to expect, you can count on classics like Evenflow, Alive, Corduroy, RVM, DTE, Betterman, GTF, etc... just to name a few. You can absolutely count on the setlists to be completely different between each night. They never play the same list on any given night of any given tour. Aside of all that, you can look forward to the best experience of your life.

Make sure to check out the Wishlist pre-parties too!  They'll be at Sluggers bar nearby.

Expect to have fun.  PJ rarely has opening bands these days as they play around 3 hours.  Last time at Wrigley they only repeated 7 or 8 songs between the two nights.    It was pretty amazing, and one of the sole reasons you see both shows when they play the same place twice :)

  • Not usually an opening act. If you're new to all this you may not be into merchandise but if you are I'd recommend that you get to the venue very, very early as some items (Posters, venue/show specific shirts, etc) go very fast...

Expect a great time with great people.  Hell, night two of Wrigley 2016 I was just walking down Waveland and folks were like "come drink with us" so I did.  Don't remember any of them and the 8 hour drive back to Maryland the next day was a bit rough.  But it's just one big, good time. I got to meet a few good folks from this board at Wrigley in 2016 from selling my extra ticket each night and even more waiting in the merch line.  (And what Caught A Bolt said is absolutely true - PJ merch is insane!) But you're gonna be in line for a while so you may as well make some friends.

I love that your first show is a stadium show outdoors.  I've always loved outdoor venues (mostly amphitheatres such as Star Lake, Merriweather Post, etc). In my opinion, a ballpark lends to a great crowd.  Twice as big as an indoor arena but only half the size of a football stadium. It's like the third little pig of sports stadium shows  - just right.

I might have to dump my extra ticket for both Seattle shows so I hope my experience will be as good as yours was (aside from the eight-hour drive, of course!)

Hello all!  Does anyone know when Ten Club tells you where your drawing tickets are located?  Also, where can I find where the pre concert parties for the Chicago and Boston shows are on the Wishlist?  Thank you!
