This song makes me cry every time I hear it!!! The music is so moving. What do you think about it?

    I have to say, that it bears such an uncannily close similarity, not only in its title but in the feel of its music, to Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac's Man of the World, that I've never been able to hear it, without associating it with this song.

    What do you think?

    It's pretty much there, in what concerns to that mellow and nostalgic guitar feeling. "Man of the Hour" is more nostalgic but less mellow, though. Like looking at old pictures. Many people say MOH reminds them of their dads.
    This is one of my PJ favorites. The lyrics are a master piece.

    Ive gotten emotional listening to this song many times....specifically right after my uncle had died of lung cancer......the lyrics seemed all too fitting

    I hear something familiar in the guitar at times, but the rhythm of the Pearl Jam song is stronger...like a heartbeat or stream. Thanks for the heads up on the Fleetwood Mac song though.

    The feeling this song brings is almost unbearable; it is overhwelming. More sad and more beautiful than anything else. I get so emotional and sentimental... can't help it.

    I remember the first time I heard it, in Boston 04...and shed a tear, I thought it was beautiful...now it get's me evey time.
    I offically have a personal relationship with Pearl Jam;)
