"Given to Fly" on Live on 2 Legs

So I've been listening to a lot of Live on Two Legs lately, and as I was getting ready to hop in the shower this morning, I had to rewind Given to Fly several times because I could almost swear that Ed said "faithless men" rather than "faceless men." I'm still not certain that it's not the former. Obviously, the song has strong biblical context in my interpretation, but "faithless" would have really amped that context up.

This isn't a religious post at all. Just a lyrics one. For example, up until about last month, I always thought it was "taken by the hand, put on my clothes" when it's actually "they can buy but can't put on my clothes." I feel rather dumb about that, and who knows, come tomorrow, I may be feeling the same way about my Given to Fly mishap.

the lyrics change at every gig. ed changes 'em on a whim and its easy to understand that maybe after the few bottes of red wine he likes onstage he may accidentally say 'faithless' instead.
good ol' drunky eddie swirling his words together ;)

    you're probably right.

more importantly.. matt cameron was fucking amazing on that version.

WHAT bugs me about ''LIVE ON 2 LEGS'' is the songs are taken from every place, instead of one show, their shows get a mood ,or attitude ,i dunno....

I kinda like that it's taken from separate shows. Like TB2K. Neither are as good as a full boot or Live at MSG, but I happen to think it's still cool that a song from a show you might have been at was put on.

He usually changes lyrics and sometimes there will be some different song arrangements/tempo changes to keep them sounding fresh.
