WOW such a powerful song but it seems that no-one actually speaks about it !! My interp would be that it's about old friends that you just take for granted, you know the ones, they are just there and when they dissappear you don't really notice until it's too late, it takes you a few years to remember who they are and where they could be. Kinda like the person that pours you a coffe every morning, one morning she wont be there and you won't notice but a year down the track you'll say "where is such and such" but she hasn't been there for soooo long !

It's a sad song but a very emotive song. A true PJ story song.

To me, elderely woman behind the counter in a small town is about a lost love. not so much as being in a small town, but just being alone, trapped, suffocated, wanting to get your voice heard.
