The bittersweet feeling for Wrigley...

My girlfriend, Rebecca passed away unexpectedly from a rare heart condition on September 5th. She was 39 years old and we spent 5 wonderful years together. In those 5 years, I took her to all 3 Wrigley shows and we spent 2 unforgettable weekend's in Chicago. Rebecca's favorite song was Release, which seems to be a lock for Chicago shows over the years. I remember in 2013, I guaranteed her they would open with Release as I had previously studied the past Chicago setlists. As we went in to 2016, we had the same exact conversation. She seemed skeptical of my guarantee that they would open with it night 1. As they opened with Low Light, I could feel her glaring at me with her look if disapproval that I earned fairly often. She wasn't actually mad, it was just a joke of course. Haha. I said "ok, well I guarantee they'll open with it Monday". Then of course, luckily they played it 2nd and all was good. It's pretty tough to plan for these 2 shows and be excited at times, but at the same time.....I know I have to go. She would want me to go. Thinking about the strong possibility of seeing the song Release without her this time will be one of the toughest moments, as it will slowly be approaching a year since I had to say goodbye. This will be show 16 and 17 for me, and I've never gone into the planning with anything less than excitement so this is going to be a far different experience. I can't say that I'm not as excited, it just feels like something is missing. Good luck to everyone that has or will enter the lottery! Should be some awesome shows!
