Anybody find any good deals on hotels close to Fenway?

I am assuming ii will be a Cluster-F*ck to get a taxi/uber/train after the shows, so we are hoping to be able to walk back to our hotel.

To protect it on the walk home, or to pay a high price for a close room?

Anyone have a pilots license to drive a boat/ship or work for the merchant marine? If you do, I would check out Mariners House.

Flat never-changing rate of $100 a night if you can present your license and prove you work for the merchant marine upon arrival.

The rooms are really quaint and antique and don't really have any modern appliances, but if its the money you want to save, I truly think this is your best option if you can get through the door.

Its located in the North Square literally right next to Paul Reveres house, so I'd give yourself about 45 minutes to an hour to get to Fenway. That may be the only drawback of the night.

I went to Boston Calling last year which ended at 10:30 and was able to get from Harvard back to the North End before midnight via subway...

I stayed at a BNB for Fenway 2 last time. My first time staying at a BNB, I was so happy with my stay I booked the same place for this upcoming show.

Since I live in Philly I just drove my own car all around but for the actual show I drove to a train station and took the train onto Fenway. It was convenient and pretty affordable compared to paying for parking around Fenway. The train was literally a block and a half away from Fenway. They had trains waiting to load people right on after the show.
  • Hotel Buckminster.  A 5 minute walk to Fenway from there...no great shakes as far as the room goes but not bad.  $187 p/n average for Sun/Mon/Tues.
No idea if they still have rooms, I booked it prior to the announcement once the rumors were "confirmed" by the website updates prior to the weekend lockout.

Boston is a very walkable city. Walking away from Fenway to the Back Bay Area to grab a cab, Uber or train will be manageable as would walking over the Charles River into Cambridge. Both are a 20 minute walk tops. Let me know if you want hotel recommendations but know it’s student move in week and rates will be ridiculous. You might want to consider Waltham, Dedham or south Boston and Quincy/Braintree. AirBNB Cambridge might be an option as well.

If you are going to splurge, The Lennox was wonderful.  My SIL ran the Boston Marathon and picked up the tab for our airfare and hotel.  (We would have never stayed there otherwise.)  It is fabulous.  Definitely a splurge.  The best sleep I have ever had in a hotel-- ever.

Found a good deal at the Copley Square Hotel.....average of $260/night, taxes included.
  • What the other folks said - if you wanna splurge, you'll get some beautiful rooms in Boston. If you wanna save, Commuter Rail/public transit will get you where you need to go west (via the T). But given how awful the T really is, you're better off paying out the nose to be close ;)

    LOW COST ALTERNATIVE HERE!!!!!

    http://www.lakesideinnwakefield.com/

I booked through Expedia after booking my flight and received 29% off. This place looks like a run down retirement home on the outside, but the inside looks decent and clean. The place is located on a lake 20-25 minutes outside of Boston. A comuter rail is 1 mile from the inn and takes you to North Station and from there you can take the green line to Fenway (according to the hotel). May have to uber back bc not sure how late comuter rail is open. The place is advertising an outdoor pool, cornhole, an onsite restaurant and tavern with "nightly entertainment" and pool tables. LL Bean uses their property to launch kayaks so kayak rentals are supposedly available on site.

I booked 4 nights with taxes, fees and hot breakfast buffet for $258 total.

Again, that is with a 29% off discount, but rooms look to be around $80 a night without a discount.  Seems like a laid back, low cost option to chill out in between shows and sight seeing. A couple other PJ fans have booked as well. Might be a whole lotta fun if other fans book here as well.
  • The Inn at Longwood is good and less expensive. Short  direct walk to Fenway and next to all transportation options. Stayed there last time pj was at Fenway and booked again this time, as it was the best price option around.   No Need for cabs or train. Lots of other fans there as well.

If they have shuffleboard at the PJ retirement hotel, you may catch a few more takers! (I'm only teasing because the retirement home description made me laugh.)

Don't forget to check out Brookline! That's where I live, only about a mile from Fenway. There are quite a few Airbnb's as well as more traditional BnB's and hotels around that wouldn't be too far from the show. Here are a couple regular BnB's that are right by my place near Coolidge Corner. It's a great area, lots to do/eat, only a mile or so to Fenway, and an easy ride on the T into the rest of the city. If you're looking on a budget they may be cheaper than the big hotels, especially if you're okay with a shared bathroom.

    Longwood Inn
    Coolidge Corner Guest House
    Samuel Sewall Inn
    Bertram Inn

*Edit: I've also stayed at this "airbnb hotel" before I moved here and had a good experience. There are quite a few rooms for rent in the building

Oasis guest house.  About a 10 minute walk at most to Fenway.  Stayed there in 2016 and was awesome.  Room with shared bathroom / fees is about 150 a night total.

We're staying at the Doubletree Suites in Cambridge - bringing the kids so we have a two room suite booked.  Stayed there two times before and pretty happy with it.  They have a free shuttle all day that goes to all of the tourist spots and its a $10 cab ride to Fenway.

I have been to the bar of this hotel before. Weird place it has some people who seem to live there long term. The bar is plain but can be fun. Good luck!
