Wrigley 2018 Guest Appearance Predictions

bbiggsbbiggs Posts: 6,931
2013 - Ernie Banks
2016 - Steve Gleason, Dennis Rodman

Who will it be this year?  I’d like to see someone like Len Kasper (Cubs broadcaster) jam with the band.

I was at MIA in 2012 when Jay Z was on stage. Was an awesome collaboration.

He will be broadcasting a Cubs game that day. But I do think there will be someone up there with them.

I didn’t even look at the schedule. So Len is out. It’s a near certainty they’ll have someone up there at both shows. Would be cool if it was someone with Chicago and/or Cubs ties that is a musician.

Bryzzo would be very cool but they'll obviously be out of town.

    Buddy Guy?

    Jose Cardinal? Ryno?

    Graham Elliot?

Bryzzo would be awesome but impossible. Jose Cardenal joined Ed for All The Way in 2016, so it’s doubtful.  Ryno is cool but not a musician to my knowledge.  I’m thinking along the lines of how Bronson Arroyo played with them in Boston. He has Boston ties, is a good musician in his own right and is a PJ fan.  How about Ryan Dempster? I think he checks all those boxes.

That ain’t happening. I don’t think billy likes Ed too much. Too many interviews from him to link but no way he’s allowed onstage

I was thinking the same. I have no clue what relationship they have (if any) but I’ve heard Corgan is kind of a prick, or at least used to be.  Too much ego.

I like the Pumpkins music (older stuff) but as I think about it I do think it’s an odd fit. PJ and Smashing Pumpkins is like oil and water...doesn’t mix

Theo would be a no-brainer even with the team on the road.
    Kerry Wood?
    Guys from Cheap Trick?

There'd be a better chance that Tom Morello would show up before Corgan.

I got it...David Ross!  Now that would be a perfect fit. Beloved by Cubs fans. Ed loves the guy. He’s a PJ fan. Let’s make this happen!

Not saying it can’t happen again but, Cardenal was there in 2016 during All the Way (Night one).

There is a mutual respect there. Ed gave him a shout out at the HOF induction. The baseball allegiance is irrelevant.

Bill Murray would be great. I heard he and Eddie did a lot of post game partying together in 2016.
