I'm leaving my husband and kids for 6 days to catch 3 euro shows, plus 2 London - all GA tickets. How does the whole waiting in line thing work, because you can't get your tickets until the venue opens right? So what do you do, wait in line for the venue to open, then get your tickets, then head straight to your chosen spot? And erm, what about toilet trips during all this time...?!

If waiting doesn't appeal to you (particularly if you're in an interesting city), turning up just before doors open for 10c tickets gets you about 8 people back Mike's side or 12 back in front of Eddie.
To get two to four feet behind the rail it is much more difficult. First, you must sleep in. Then have a hearty breakfast. From there travel around the city taking in the sites. Have a nice lunch. Come back to your lodging for a quick nap. Then head to a nearby bar for some pints and conversation. After that, head over to the venue five minutes before doors open and walk in behind the others and claim your spot four feet from the rail.
