The hardest job in the world,
Is the one without pay.
The one that only reaps rewards,
Which are far and few between.

A job, that at times,
Can make or break you.
One that shows your strength,
Yet reveals your weaknesses

No two days are alike,
And the tasks vary in ways,
That even you don't understand.

Like a circle,
This job has no end.
And without notice,
Can be the most terrifying.
Or the most exhilarating experience ever.

One that could never tear you away,
Yet, make you want to run like the wind. 
One that warms your heart,
And takes the phone off the hook.

From seed to the grave 
The actions we take,
The promises we make.
Will be kept, broken, 
And evaluated by others.
