i have constant movie type images flashing through my mind, but cannot visualize details of faces of the people i know.
Same here with me
In her book, Thinking in Pictures, Temple Grandin talks about
exactly that, thinking in pictures. If I recall correctly, she talks
about how some people think mostly in terms of words or concepts and
other like her self see objects. She sees things in her mind like they are a photograph. She talks about how when she has
difficulty with abstract subjects like philosophy such that when was in
school and she ran across a difficult section in a book she could look
at the page of the book and then walk around all day and see that page
in her mind and study it.
There must be
varying degrees of being able to see things in one's mind. When I think
of an object, I see it not as words but also not as a perfect
photograph but more as a shadowy or ghost like image of the thing.
