Holy moly! Best song off Binaural in my opinion. The studio version is perfect, and most of the time it kicks ass live! The Philly '03 version is awesome.

Show some love for this amazing song!

I had the first single with that b side, and i thought if thats a bside....

But then along with of the girl it was one of my ultimate favorites.

People who love this song should check out the mix on the nais single.

i love this song but it is definently not the best on binaural.
LIGHT YEARS RULES!!! this song helped me through a really rough time i was going through this is a phenomenal song i love this song. thin air is also better, but after those 2 insignificances is AWSOME.

i love the whole feel of binaural all together, each song compliments the others so perfectly, i think insignificance is just such a great pump up song, it just leaves you wanting more.

insignificance is one of the songs that just doesn't get as much love as it deserves. right up there with tremor christ.

includes some of my favorite lines ever written:

i was alone and far away,
when i heard the band start playing.

live it kicks massive ass. that break before "the plates begin to shift" -- damn, gives me chills just thinking about it.
you paid to get in, you're free to leave.

I'm so glad people are showing Insignificance some love!

The only thing its missing live is the bridge that's on the album. The 2000 versions had it down tight, but they changed it in 2003 and didn't include the "feel like resonance of distance...." line.

But when it kicks back in and jams before the last chorus it just kicks ass!

I wonder how I never noticed that. Thats one of my favorite parts of their songs. So good. Sounded like it was hard to play.

I remember looking at the setlists and getting excited about hearing it. But it just lacked the oomph that it had in 2000. The bridge built up so perfectly to a climax in 2000, but 2003 was lacking a little.

  • A perfect song from a perfect album! You know, you could get 7 great bands put their best albums together and they still wouldn't match Pearl Jam's 7. How lucky we are!!
