I really believe this is the next evolution in the bootleg scene... They have cameras at every show to put it up on the big screens anyway, literally just live stream that feed and charge $10.00-20.00 to access the stream.. Makes for happy fans that crave live Pearl Jam and can't physically make it to every show around the globe. Also it's common knowledge at this point that if you want to make serious money in the music business it's by touring and not releasing albums. This is a no-brainer for the band IMHO, instant revenue stream for them for doing what they already do....play kick ass live shows. We are all die hard fans around here, I can't estimate how many of us would pay $10.00 to watch a live show at home, but I certainly would. Friday night at home, a six pack of good beer, and live Pearl Jam on my 60" 4k TV....sounds pretty good to me.
When i saw LP2 in the theatre I was wondering if something like that or even a live stream in theatres would be possible. I'd be into it. Not every show but maybe 1 per leg of a tour
Pearl Jam really isn't superbig on the video format so I don't really see it happening.
The good news is we might get a good proshot bootleg from the Lollapalooza Brasil show. There's a channel down there (multicast?) that air's all the concerts from the big festivals in super high quality HD. In 2013 PJ didn't give consent, so they were only the band who's video didn't end up on live TV or a live stream. A lot of people complained so they gave the channel permission to air it on a later date. Someone captured it, and it's probably the best quality Pearl Jam concert video out there. Super High Quality 1080i. Hopefully we get something like that from this tour
$50 to watch a livestream? Dedication right there. They've released hundreds and hundreds of bootlegs. I would never pay to watch a live stream unless it was their last show and something really special like a PJ20.
