I can't pick one, it's totally dependent on my mood. But present Tense is one that would come to mind for all time best. I would love to see it as an opener!!

Yeah, you can't pick just one. But in Nashville 2000, a cold chill came over me when they played that, and there was a Heat Index of 110 degrees at that moment.

Makes much more sense to live in the Present Tense.

I can't pick one favorite, all depends on the day

but it's my favorite of No Code... and even this choice is a difficult one!!

All I know is the jam at the end is one of my favorites. It was great to finally hear it live.

i just listened to it about an hour ago...its just incredible...it has all elements of a great song: wonderful lyrics, great vocals, and a rocking end...then back to the mellow finish...tremendous

to listen to, to really hear

one of those things you want to share with all of your family
and your best friends so they can stop and think and go
"wow - that was beautiful" because you know it's so bang

I was fortunate enough to hear it at all 3 show I attended. They play it virtually the same way every time but every version sounds different, and everytime it was uplifting. It really set the tone for the st louis show.

Mmmm this is a great song.

I didn't realize how great till I saw it live for the first time.

to A Meal... they opened the St Louis 2003 with it.... :)

it was so awsome, the drive from KC to St. Louis my fiance and I were jamming out, I played the old school self polution live bootleg, and made sure to rock out to some No Code , I told her I wanted to hear Present Tense so bad, I had been saying this for a few weeks...

and to my suprise, and joy they opened with it, they could have left the stage after that and It would not have mattered...

    OH YEAH!!

As tough as it is to pick just one, this song would be it.

I'm surprised at how many people like it as much as I do...I've never heard anyone else say it was their favorite.

I kept saying "this is one of my favorite PJ songs" until I realized I had named about fifteen. Present Tense is definitely one of them.

another song that i loovvvvveeeee. the lyrics, to me, are self searching--looking at yourself objectively and trying to weedout the drama of the past from your present self.

Oh yeah, this song is definitely way way up there. I went from never having seen it live...to seeing it live 3 times this tour! Kicked my ass every damn time. The drum breakdown live!?!? Holy shit! :o

Anyways... gorgeous, powerful song all around. This is one of those songs that I have sat many people down to and insisted they listen to every lyric/sound. Everyone (even if they still aren't really into PJ) will always thank me later and praise the song. It fuckin puts things into perspective big time. It really is just such a beautiful, powerful song. One of the best for sure. :)
