Elderly Woman...

Here's my 2 cents...
Elderly Woman was always just another song to me. It was a good song, yes, a very good song, but it didn't really click with me. It wasn't special to me for any reason, but I liked it all the same.
Then, there I was sitting in the 26th row of the Xcel Center in St. Paul at my first Pearl Jam concert. The night was a dream come true for me. Everything about that was amazing, and I'll never forget it. It was after the second encore break, and Eddie and Co. retook the stage. As you remember, PJ hadn't been to Minnesota since the 1998 tour...so we were in some serious dought. And Eddie takes the mic and says, "Has it been five years? Five years, so that was at the beginning of this tour? Stone says he's getting old quick, and he's the youngest of the bunch. Alright, we got a couple more if you're... 1, 2, 3, 4, 2, 3..." And they launch into Eldery Woman...which is beautiful with Boom's Organ if I do say so myself. Anyway, I'm singing along with every word, and suddenly I realize what I'm singing... "I just want to scream...hello!! My god it's been so long, never dreamed you'd return. But now here you are, and here I am"
I never thought that I'd have the chance to see Pearl Jam live, I never dreamt that this would happen. Those words just hit my so deep...I swear you can hear my screaming at the top of my lungs after the song...I just let loose. There were tears in the corners of my eyes...and now that song means so much to me. "But now here you are, and here I am."
